I was unable to make the walk today, but if anyone who did go on it wants to comment, feel free to do so here.

The next walk will be on Sunday 25th May and will be led by Katherine. It starts at 10:00 am, from Kingston near Lewes, at the junction of Ashcome Lane and The Avenue; park on the street (Explorer 122, GR 391 086). The walk is 8 miles; you will need to bring a picnic lunch as there is no pub stop.

It was a beautiful day for walking: very sunny but with a breeze. Also, there was plenty of woodland on the route, so we were well covered on the walk. Unfortunately, the turn out was not good, but those of us who were there enjoyed a good day’s walking. Lunch at the Bat & Ball was excellent.

Finally, it’s my turn to lead a walk! It’s next Sunday, 11th May, and starts from the car park of the Onslow Arms, Loxwood (Explorer 134, GR 042 312). Park in the canal car park beyond the gate rather than the pub car park.

The walk is roughly 8 miles over flat terrain. We go down to the Bat & Ball pub in Newpound, just outside Wisborough Green, through the woods to the west of the B2133, and go back through the woods to the east.

I hope to see you there. If there are any queries, you can phone me on 01403 753617 (ask for James).
