Steve’s walk last Sunday was a highly enjoyable stroll through the West Sussex countryside. We stopped for lunch at the Blue Idol, a very old Quaker’s meeting house, purchased in the 17th Century by William Penn, who went on to frame the constitution of the state of Pennsylvania in the United States.
As the walk was linear, we were due to catch a train back from Pullborough station. Unfortunately, that afternoon there was an electrical fault on the lines, so we had to make use of the bus replacement service. Moreover, some of us had left our cars at Christ’s Hospital station, and the replacement service only went to Horsham, one stop further down the line. Fortunately, we were able to get a lift from a family member back from Horsham, so it didn’t prove a problem.
All comments from those on the walk are welcome.
