I’ve just got back from leading a highly enjoyable walk around Arundel. The weather initially looked worrying, as it was briefly overcast and raining, but by 10 a.m. the sun was out. Fortunately it was breezy too, which made it ideal walking conditions.
Starting from a lay-by near Houghton, we following the Monarch’s Way footpath down to Arundel from the west, first along the river Arun, then over the hills and down into the town itself. We decided on eating at the Black Rabbit, so we proceeded out of Arundel past the Wetlands Centre. The afternoon saw us make our way back to the start through the woods and fields, and along the river Arun again.
