After a couple of walks lead by yours truly, Richard Groves took up the baton and led an enjoyable circular walk.
There was a good turnout, with 11 walkers in total, and unlike two weeks ago, it wasn’t too cold. However, it was rather muddy underfoot in places.
The walk started and ended in Firle village car park, which is located behind the Ram Inn. We then worked our way up onto the Downs, where it was rather windy, and eventually back down again.
Lunch was at the Rose Cottage Inn in Alciston, where we just about managed to get everyone onto our table! The good reputation of the food there is well deserved, and it was reasonably priced by current standards.
The second half of the walk was much flatter, but did feature a few rather muddy fields. We eventually ended up back in Firle, at the Ram Inn.
Many thanks to Richard for leading the walk, and to all of those who turned up.
