Latest Walk: Delightful Ditchling’s Downs

There was a very good turnout for the first walk of the year: 10 young walkers and 2 dogs. Conditions were soggy under foot in places, but although a little cold, it was also sunny, especially as the day went on.

Starting from the Ditchling village hall car park, we worked out way south and up onto the South Downs. Passing Ditchling Beacon, we proceeded west 1.5 miles along the South Downs Way, before making out way back down to Ditchling.

At the end of the walk, we enjoyed an excellent lunch at the Bull Inn.

Many thanks for all who came on the walk, and I hope you enjoyed it.

  1. I like the comment of “young” walkers (in relation to me that is!!!) Yes it was a lovely first walk for the new year. The bright sunshine allowed us to have stunning views when we got to the top (and got our breath back!) Good to see new faces, canine as well as human, and the meal at the Bull was delicious and rounded off a very enjoyable walk.
