Latest Walk: Two Peaks Walk

Although the weather threatened to break, fortunately it held until the last stretch of the walk. For the most part it was windy, especially up on top, and sunny too.

The walk started from and ended at Lewes Golf Club car park. It is a challenge to drive up the narrow road to there as much as it is to walk up!

The “two peaks” of the walk name are Mount Caburn and Firle Beacon, both of which offer fine views.

We also had an enjoyable walk along the River Ouse after lunch by the riverside near Southease. It was at the end of this section of walk, which brought up back into Lewes for the final climb back up to the golf club, when it started to rain.

Many thanks to Andrew for leading an enjoyable walk. If you were on the walk and would like to comment, feel free to do so.

  1. Thank you Andrew. Definitely a walk to blow the cobwebs away. I’ve viewed Mount Caburn from the A27 on many occasions – good to finally see the view from the top.

  2. Thank you Andrew. A circular walk where you can almost see where you have been and where you are going the whole time is great!

  3. It was blowy for an august sunday, but the whole area is quite exposed. Even though rain threatened all day the views from the tops were still clear. Should be some scenic photos coming through which was one of the main aims. Apologies for the difficult start point but we had done most of the climb before we started!
